Dinners w/o 9/5:

Someone recently asked me how I get our grocery shopping done with working and all the other craziness that comes along with life so thought I would quickly share.

1.)    I base our many of our weekly meals off things I already have in the freezer, fridge or pantry. 
2.)   I do our weekly menu usually on Thursday and make a quick grocery list
3.)    Saturday or Sunday morning I take a kid (kid rotates each week) to grab coffee and then pick up everything I need for the week.  The kids love to go and hold “the list” and we talk about what’s on the menu for the week while gathering items –
 –   Only exception is for fish (if I don’t have it in the freezer – we did buy a whole salmon from the Ballard locks this year.  They individually shrink-wrapped each portion that is ready for the freezer.  It was so awesome – will definitely do that again!)  If we don’t have it in the freezer – I will pick that up really quick on the way home from work the day we are having it. 
4.)     That’s it!

Sunday –

Alexa Sweet potato fries
Cesar salad (recipe below)

This will make a small batch for maybe 10 servings (stays well in the fridge for up to 2 weeks)
Caesar dressing
5 garlic cloves minced
1tbls Dijon mustard
3 dashes Worcestershire
3 dashes tobasco
2 tsp anchovy paste (optional)
Salt to taste
Good amount of fresh pepper
2 Lemons squeezed
½ cup olive oil
Food process together

Thursday –
Homemade pizza’s (trader joe’s dough/sauce) with turkey pepperoni and choice of whatever veggies are in the fridge) Everyone makes their own individual pizza (kids love it)
Simple green salad using whatever veggies we have in the fridge

Friday –
Out
